The president of the Mauritian Militant Movement (MMM), Reza Uteem, indicates that the Political Bureau (BP) has taken note of the resignation of Paul Bérenger, his daughter Joanna Bérenger as well as the deputy Chetan Baboolall from all party authorities.

“It is with great sadness that we note this decision,” says Reza Uteem. He affirms that Paul Bérenger made the choice to withdraw after having, according to him, refused to listen to the voice of the majority of activists, despite calls made internally. He spoke at an MMM press conference following the Mauves Political Bureau at Port-Louis town hall.

The Minister of Labor also insists on the fact that “the page has been turned” and that the work continues within the political party. Management now intends to move forward and stay the course.

Furthermore, regional meetings are planned in the coming weeks to meet the “activists” and discuss the procedure to follow after these departures.
