There was a time when the current Minister of Commerce, Aadil Ameer Meea, insisted to the former MSM government that a solution be found to remove carcasses of cars and other vehicles which are left abandoned on sometimes very busy arteries. The spectacle of this type of vehicle being ripped apart and stripped of some of its attributes is a real insult to the environment. As urban decorations go, you can hardly do worse!

In Curepipe, residents of rue Lislet Geoffroy, who live not far from the Intermart supermarket, are fighting for a car wreck - lying around for several months near a delicate curve used by buses - to be removed, without getting the slightest reaction. Whether from the city hall or the environmental police.

In the own constituency of the Minister of the Environment, Rajesh Bhagwan, on rue Montgomery in Beau-Bassin, two carcasses have been planted for ages in a street which is, in addition, a single lane on part of the roadway. Which causes inconvenience for the inhabitants of the region. They report having all the trouble in the world to get home when cars are parked on the way.

All those affected by these horrors planted in public roads only hope for one thing: that the authorities act... finally!
