The case between Vengidasamy Naick Ganeshen and 242 other licensed taxi drivers against Logidis Ltd, operating the Ala-lila Taxi platform, and the National Land Transport Authority (NLTA), was called this Monday, April 27, 2026 before Judge Azam Neerooa sitting in summary proceedings.

Logidis Ltd indicated that it had retained the services of Me André Robert, Senior Attorney. She opposed the application and requested a remand in order to file a counter-affidavit. The case is now set for May 6, 2026. For its part, the NLTA has indicated that it wants to retain the services of state lawyers and will make its position known on the same date.

In their affidavit, the protesting taxi drivers, represented by Messrs Roshi Bhadain, Arun Bhinda and Me Kaviraj Bokhoree, attorney, mention several online transport platforms, including Uber, cited in the list “MOTAXI, YUGO, ALALILA/UBER, DODOGO, FINOVA, ELITE, VITE, MOKABB”, which they consider to operate without authorization.

They are seeking an interlocutory injunction to suspend the platform's operations while waiting for the Court to decide the dispute on the merits.
