For more than six weeks, football fans were invited to put their knowledge to the test thanks to Predict & WIN, the competition launched by blink by Emtel during the last edition of the World Cup. At the end of the competition, the operator rewarded the main winners yesterday during a ceremony organized at Emtel World, ebony. Accessible free of charge to all smartphone users in Mauritius, the blink application offered football fans the opportunity to predict the results of matches in order to accumulate points on a live national ranking. The figures testify to the scale of the operation. According to Emtel, the campaign recorded nearly 650,000 interactions on social media, while around 10,000 people took part in each match. With a total of 104 matches played during the World Cup, hundreds of thousands of predictions were submitted over the weeks, supplying a constantly updated ranking.
This strong mobilization confirms the public's interest in digital experiences combining entertainment and rewards. Participants could not only try to win the main prizes, but also win daily gifts as well as weekly rewards awarded to the best tipsters.
The big winner of this edition is Mohammed Nafiz Emambocus, who leaves with the first prize of Rs 1 million. He also distinguished himself throughout the competition by winning two weekly awards thanks to the accuracy of his predictions: a PlayStation 5 during the second week and a Samsung Galaxy A57 5G smartphone during the sixth week. Hoolash Mohammad Naadir Noor won second place and a reward of Rs 200,000, while Ho Wan Kau Michael completed the podium by winning a check for Rs 100,000.
