– In one of the cases, a driver tested positive for the breathalyzer test

The police recorded two road deaths in a few hours on Tuesday. Avish Augnoo (26 years old) succumbed to his injuries following an accident that occurred during the weekend in Roches-Noires. While Bradley Allan Albert (20 years old) died at La Tour Koenig after hitting a bus. The first accident dates back to Sunday April 20, around 7:15 p.m., on the Coastal Road in Roches-Noires. A beige Mercedes car, driven by Lalji Kurti Ramji Patel (71), director of Laxman Bhai Company Ltd and resident of Roches-Noires, was involved in this collision. The driver explained to investigators that he was traveling in the direction of Haute-Rive when he suddenly heard a dull noise. After stopping his vehicle a few meters away, he got out and discovered a seriously injured man lying on the left side of the road, bathed in his blood. The car's windshield was damaged, but the driver escaped the accident unscathed. SAMU services quickly intervened to transport the victim to the SSRN hospital, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit in critical condition. In the meantime, the police noted that road conditions were normal with the road surface dry, with no work in progress, but the area was poorly lit. No independent witnesses came forward after the accident. A breathalyzer test carried out on the driver revealed a level of 16 mg during the preliminary test, then 13 mg during the official test. The septuagenarian was placed in detention on the orders of ASP Foeud before being released on bail the next day before the Rivière-du-Rempart district court, on a bond of Rs 5,000. The victim was identified as being Avish Augnoo, 26 years old, resident of Roches-Noires. On April 28, he was pronounced dead by a neurosurgeon, who referred the case to the Police Medical Office. The autopsy, performed the same day by Dr. Prem Chamane, attributed the cause of death to craniocerebral injuries. The body was then handed over to the family for cremation. The second fatal accident occurred Tuesday afternoon at La-Tour-Koenig, near the Martello Tower. Bradley Allan Albert, aged 20, residing in Cassis was riding a black Pulsar motorcycle when he lost control of his machine while negotiating a turn. According to images from Safe City Network cameras, he then hit a bus coming in the opposite direction. The vehicle was driven by a resident of Pointe-aux-Sables (39 years old). The breathalyzer test carried out on the latter came back negative. He was released on parole after questioning. An autopsy carried out in the evening by Dr Prem Chamane concluded that the death of Bradley Allan Albert was due to a state of shock.
