A 12-year-old minor experienced a traumatic ordeal on Tuesday at Jeetoo hospital. A man (54 years old) started a conversation with him in Port-Louis and accompanied him to a business near the establishment while the boy had to collect food. Then, the latter headed towards the public toilets of the hospital.
While he was relieving himself, the suspect, who works as a security guard, locked the door. He attempted to sexually abuse the minor while he was partially naked.
The latter resisted and ran to the Jeetoo Hospital police station to seek help. Police officers accompanied him and were able to arrest the suspect. This resident of Grand-Baie was placed in a cell at the Alcatraz detention center.
In the meantime, the Family Protection Brigade took care of the boy. A psychologist was dispatched to the site to assist him. The victim suffered slight injuries during this attempted rape.
