On the occasion of World Workers' Day, celebrated this May 1, a moment of reflection was held this morning around the memory of a significant figure in the Mauritian labor movement, Guy Rozemont.

Patrick Belcourt, Father Jocelyn Grégoire, Stephan Buckland, Jonathan Chatigan and Bruneau Laurette gathered to lay a wreath on his grave at the St-Jean cemetery.

This gesture is part of the tradition of paying tribute to those who have contributed to the defense of workers' rights in Mauritius.

This commemoration also recalls the role played by Guy Rozemont in the organization and mobilization of the working class.

Through this tribute, the participants were keen to underline the importance of preserving social achievements and continuing to reflect on working conditions in the current context.

Beyond this moment of reflection, World Labor Day is an opportunity to recognize the daily commitment of millions of workers around the world, while highlighting the issues that continue to shape the world of work.
