On the occasion of Labor Day, observed this Friday, May 1, the New Democrats party paid tribute to the Earth, presented as a source of life, work and sovereignty. The party sent its wishes to the workers of Mauritius and the world, while emphasizing that the valorization of the Earth remains inseparable from respect for workers' and human rights. Protecting the environment, he asserts, amounts to preserving the living conditions, working conditions and dignity of present and future generations.
As part of its 2nd anniversary, placed under the theme of ecology, a workshop in the countryside was organized at Chassée Les Mares, in the South, in collaboration with the Environment & Ecology Club of the New Democrats. This initiative, bringing together members and guests, is a continuation of the party's commitments after a first year dedicated to democracy, before a third dedicated to meritocracy, in accordance with the DEM 2030 vision.
Speaking, Khushal Lobine, MP and leader of the New Democrats, recalled that the Earth constitutes a collective heritage to be preserved and an issue of national sovereignty. Absent, the President, Véronique Leu-Govind, sent a message of support to the workers.
This emerges from the press release issued by the party this Friday.
