Mciné will move from April 16 to the premises previously occupied by Star in La Croisette, in Grand-Baie, which ceased its activities on March 31 after several years of operation. According to Rajesh Callicharan, director of MCiné, this revival proved necessary due to a lack of cinema halls in the north of the country.

It was also at the request of the region's inhabitants that the operator decided to bring this infrastructure back to life, with the upcoming installation of new technologies, including Dolby Atmos, for an immersive experience, as well as large and better adapted screens.

Previously, films were screened in Kingâs and Anand theatres. However, over time, these cinemas became obsolete and no longer met public expectations.

From April 16, moviegoers can go to La Croisette to discover Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan and starring Akshay Kumar. Another expected release: Michael, a biopic dedicated to Michael Jackson.

Despite the difficult economic context, underlines Rajesh Callicharan, the public continues to frequent cinemas, prices remaining significantly more affordable than other forms of leisure.

The latter intends to continue this momentum, while maintaining the ticket price at Rs 250.
