“Pa oblize ena DPM,” declared Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam. He was responding to a question from Radio Plus after the Tamil New Year celebration at the MGI this Tuesday, about the post of Deputy Prime Minister, which has remained vacant since the resignation of Paul Bérenger. According to the head of government, there is no formal position of deputy prime minister.
As a reminder, it is Shakeel Mohamed who will act as interim for five days, while Navin Ramgoolam will travel to the Republic of Congo to attend the inauguration ceremony of Denis Sassou N'Guesso, scheduled for tomorrow.
The head of government was also questioned about the Chagos file, currently on hold by the British government. “Atan kan mo retourn parlman,” he replied.
