A new complaint has been filed against Mufti Azhar Peerbocus, former Acting Principal of Twaha Academy, implicating the latter in alleged acts of violence against minor students. The new complaint was made by an 11-year-old child on Thursday to the Bel-Air-Rivière-Sèche police. The child claims to have been the victim of repeated attacks since his admission to the establishment in 2025. According to him, the facts were spread over several months, culminating in an incident that occurred recently. He claims to have been hit with a mop handle as well as a wicker rod. This new statement comes in addition to a series of similar accusations targeting the former manager of the establishment. To date, the police have recorded four separate complaints from students attending the Twaha Academy boarding school, located in Pont-Lardier. As part of the investigation, one of the teenagers concerned was examined by a police doctor on Wednesday. A medical report is awaited to enlighten investigators on the nature of the alleged injuries. For the moment, no accusations of a sexual nature have been officially made by the students. However, one of them gave the names of his friends who had been invited by the religious to sleep in his room. The police are trying to convince the parents of these victims to come and file a complaint. Furthermore, two of the minors claimed that Azhar Peerbocus gave them substances resembling cigarettes. After consuming them, they felt unwell, an additional element taken into consideration by the authorities. Already targeted by two first complaints filed on April 2 at the Bel-Air-Rivière-Sèche police station, Azhar Peerboccus left the territory the day before. He boarded a flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. The investigation continues to shed light on these accusations.
