As part of the investigation into allegations of abuse against Mufti Azhar Peerbocus, former director of Twaha Academy, police seized the establishment's digital video recorder. This equipment was handed over to the IT Unit for examinations.
At the same time, a former teacher and a former cook from the academy were heard as witnesses on Thursday April 16.
Mufti Azhar Peerbocus, the target of several complaints from students, is currently in South Africa. An “Arrest Upon Arrival” notice was issued against him.
