The Ministry of the Environment and Solid Waste Management has reacted to the current dispute between the operator Sotravic/Strata and contractual truckers responsible for transporting wastewater to treatment centers. Since the morning of Friday, April 17, this situation has disrupted operations at the Mare-Chicose waste landfill site.

In a press release, the ministry indicates that it is closely monitoring the situation in collaboration with the operator. Negotiations are underway between Sotravic/Strata and the truckers to allow operations to resume as quickly as possible.

The ministry also specifies that a complaint was filed at the Cent-Gaulettes police station, following the obstruction of the access routes to the landfill center. The site management contract was awarded to the Sotravic/Strata joint venture on June 28, 2024.

This morning, truckers operating under contract with Sotravic/Strata blocked access to the Mare-Chicose site. They denounce in particular payment arrears and tensions linked to the organization of their operations, which led to an interruption of the transport of wastewater and the blocking of access to the landfill center.
