608 vehicles, estimated at 444.4 million rupees, have been seized by the Financial Crimes Commission since November 2024. Figures revealed by the Prime Minister in a written response tabled in the National Assembly, to a question from MP Farhad Aumeer.

According to information obtained from the FCC, 25 people suspected of being involved in money laundering operations linked to drug trafficking have been arrested.

Since November 2024, the Financial Crimes Commission has stepped up the fight against money laundering linked to drug trafficking. Operations have multiplied on the ground, with already more than 600 vehicles seized across the country.

In detail, we identify 8 trucks, 467 cars, 76 motorcycles, but also 3 quads, 5 bobcats and 49 pleasure boats, property suspected of having been acquired using illicit funds.

At the same time, the police commissioner indicates that 26 other vehicles were also seized as part of separate investigations: 15 cars, 3 vans, 6 motorcycles, a scooter and a pleasure boat, currently being assessed.

The authorities thus intend to hit the criminal networks where it hurts: in the wallet.
