The Ambassador of Mauritius to the Republic of Korea, Gaëtan Siew, said he was honored to represent the country at the Korea–Africa Foreign Ministers' Meeting, held recently in Seoul. This important diplomatic meeting brought together representatives from 50 African countries as well as the main continental institutions. The meeting highlighted the leading role played by South Korea in the areas of digital transformation, technological innovation and soft power, while highlighting the constant strengthening of the strategic partnership between the Korea and African countries.

According to the ambassador, this dialogue platform offered Mauritius a privileged opportunity to reaffirm its positioning as a bridge between Asia and Africa, thanks to its strategic geographical location, its institutional stability and its business-friendly environment.

On the sidelines of the work, discussions also took place with several major economic players, notably Hyundai Motor Company and LX International. These discussions focused on the possibilities for economic cooperation, investment and partnerships likely to contribute to the development of Mauritius and the strengthening of its links with South Korea. This participation is part of Mauritius' desire to diversify its international partnerships and seize the opportunities offered by economic dynamism and technology of South Korea.
