On the occasion of World Environment Day, celebrated on June 5, the Senator For A Smile association has chosen to place the protection of nature at the heart of its action by organizing a tree planting day. The initiative, held at Montvert Nature Walk, Curepipe, brought together Senator Club employees and their children around a common goal: to contribute to reforestation and raise awareness among future generations of the importance of a sustainable environment.

Organized in collaboration with the forestry services and the Ministry of Agro-industry, Food Security, Blue Economy and Fisheries, this activity had the theme of preserving nature through a simple but symbolic gesture: planting a tree. The day began at 10 a.m. with the participation of many staff members. In total, 125 plants were made available and each of them found its place in the soil thanks to the commitment of the participants. Employees, accompanied by their children, actively took part in this environmental mission. Some even got together to plant together, creating a real team spirit around this cause. The event was also marked by the presence of Fabrice David, Junior Minister of Agro-industry, Food Safety, Blue Economy and Fisheries, who officially inaugurated activity by also planting a tree.

Faithful to its environmental commitment, Senator For A Smile organizes awareness-raising actions across the island every year. According to Adarsh ​​Durga, president of Senator for a Smile, the organization has always attached particular importance to environmental protection. “Every year, on the occasion of World Environment Day, we organize a clean-up campaign across the island. This year, we wanted to go further by collaborating with the Ministry of Agro-industry to set up Plant and Tree Day,” he declared. Beyond the planting, this day made it possible to convey an important message to the youngest. “The objective is to instill the importance of a sustainable environment in our children and to teach them the right actions to protect the planet, because they are the ones who will benefit from it in the future,” said Adarsh ​​Durga.

The highlights of the day were undoubtedly the moments spent planting. The participants demonstrated real enthusiasm and seriousness in their commitment. Some children and employees even took the time to decorate their trees, giving a personal touch to this collective action.
