On May 31, the suspense ended for the participants of Super Maman 2026, the big game launched by Radio Plus as part of Mother's Day. The finalists faced each other on Sunday in complicity, sharing and emotion. Tashyana Pillay Kuppadu, the mayor of the town of Curepipe, and her mother-in-law Vinoda Kuppadu were crowned big winners of this first edition.
The atmosphere quickly went up a notch with the first test, called “A nou alle bazaar”. To the applause of the audience, the two daughters-in-law, Tashyana Pillay Kuppadu and Christina Sirop, took part in an exercise that was as fun as it was delicate. Blindfolded, they had to identify by touch three products announced by the game master among an assortment of vegetables and spices arranged on a tray.
Tashyana Pillay Kuppadu was the first to take up the challenge. Tasked with finding a radish, a potato and saffron, she managed to correctly identify two out of three products. Christina Syrop followed suit a few moments later. His mission was to find a carrot, a potato and ginger. She also obtained two correct answers out of three, allowing the two pairs to remain tied at the end of this first round.
The tone then changed with a second event that looked like a culinary competition. In just two minutes, the candidates had to prepare and present a bowl of Bonto mine that was as appetizing as it was tasty. Several ingredients, seasonings and condiments were at their disposal to personalize their creation. Beyond taste, the visual was a determining criterion in the evaluation.
At the end of the tasting, the jury, made up of representatives from Courts Mammouth, Tribeca Mall and Radio Plus, designated the duo formed by Tashyana Pillay Kuppadu and her mother-in-law, Vinoda Kuppadu, as the winner of this round. Their careful and particularly aesthetic presentation made the difference against their opponents.
Before continuing the competition, a musical interlude punctuated the morning. The artist Demaïko took the stage to perform ‘Onor nou mama’, the emblematic song of this edition of Super Maman. A moment appreciated by the public, carried by words celebrating mothers and the many sacrifices they make on a daily basis for their families.
The competition then resumed with a third event calling on speed and team spirit. The pairs had to put several cards illustrated with emojis in the correct order in order to reconstruct the sentence “Farmland kontan to mama”. Once again, Tashyana Pillay Kuppadu and her mother-in-law took the lead by completing the challenge in just twelve seconds.
The final ended with a series of questions and answers intended to definitively decide between the candidates. Daughters-in-law and mothers-in-law each had their own questionnaire. Christina Si
