Adrien Duval questioned the Prime Minister, Navin Ramgoolam, on the number of resignations following that of Paul Bérenger, as Deputy Prime Minister, on March 20. A total of 31 resignations were recorded until April 2, including advisors appointed to several boards of directors and public companies. On the other hand, there were no resignations among ambassadors posted abroad.
Between March 20, 2026 and April 2, 2026, 31 political appointees and advisors submitted their resignations from their respective positions within different government bodies. On March 23, there were 18 resignations from parastatals, including Ashwen Naidu, as a member of the Mauritius Film Development Corporation; Keshaw Kumar Jhummun, as Legal Adviser at the Sugar Industry Labor Welfare Fund; Shaad Chellapermal, as Chairperson of the National Youth Council and Manorgaren Thirpathee of the Mauritius Institute of Education.
Other resignations occurred on the 24th, namely those of Daniella Bastien from the Outer Islands Development Company, Lionel J. Lajoie from the Conservatoire de musique François Mitterrand, Iqbal Calcateea, president of the Mauritius Sports Council, and Dr. Kailash B. Sobha from the Mauritius Institute of Education.
On March 25, there were four more resignations: Critanand Atma from the Marathi Cultural Center Trust, Gabriella Batour from the National Heritage Fund, Marie Corina Christ from the presidency of the National Adoption Council, and Brigitte Roussety, an independent member of the National Women Council.
On March 30, Selvanaden Mootoosamy, chairman of the Sugar Industry Labor Welfare Fund and member of the National Children's Council, Nandini M. Miniandee, member of the National Women's Sport Commission and Zara Noa Lennon, member of the National Women's Sports Commission, had submitted their resignations from their respective positions.
On April 1 and 2, Beebee S.B. Golfee Noormohamed and Georges D. Grenade resigned as independent members of the National Women's Sports Council and members of the Trust Fund for Excellence in Sports, respectively.
Among the advisors, there were six departures on March 20 and 23, namely Vijay Makhan, Special Advisor to the DPM on Diplomatic Relations and International Affairs, Kishore Pertab, Senior Adviser to the DPM on Strategies and Policies, Daniella Bastien, Senior Adviser in communications and strategies, Nabil Moolna, communications advisor to the Attorney General, Shaffick S. Ahmad, Senior Adviser to the DPM and Hishaam A. Ibrahim, Senior Adviser to the Ministry of the Environment.
In public companies, three resignations were recorded. Med Doba was a member of State Informatics Ltd; Ganesha Singaravelloo, director of the State Investment Company and Critanand Atma of the presidency of the Mauritius Housing Company.
