Two police officers are being questioned “under warning” by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) this Tuesday as part of an investigation into corruption and money laundering carried out under the FCC Act 2023.
They are Rajcoomar Seewoo, former Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) aged 54, and Ranjeet Deoojee, Inspector of Police, aged 46.
The investigation relates to a search carried out on March 30, 2024 in Vallée-des-Prêtres, during which Rs 30 million was discovered.
According to the FCC, irregularities are suspected in the seizure, transport and retention of this sum of money.
