A large quantity of single-use plastic products was seized during an operation carried out this Tuesday, August 4 in Flacq.

The intervention was carried out by the Environmental Police, with the support of the Plastic Management Division of the Ministry of the Environment and the National Environmental Laboratory, following information deemed credible.

A total of 147,610 plastic bags, 1,652 polystyrene takeaway containers, 1,740 polystyrene plates, 650 PET cups, 2,100 straws, 100 bowls with lids, 250 trays with lids and 250 plastic forks were seized, in contravention of the Banning of Plastic Bags and Single Use Plastic Products Regulations 2020.
