Incidents before the FCC: “Shameem One and Only” files a complaint against Teeruth Prasad Degnarain for inciting racial hatred

Teeruth Prasad Degnarain, barely released on bail, is the subject of a new complaint. This time, the initiative comes from Shameem Korimbocus, better known as “Shameem One and Only”. He went to the Vacoas police station this Friday afternoon, July 31, to file a complaint.

Shameem Korimbocus accuses this resident of Dagotière of inciting racial hatred.

As a reminder, Teeruth Prasad Degnarain, aged 54, was arrested last Wednesday by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Moka before being released on parole yesterday, Thursday July 30. He faces a provisional charge of criminal defamation.

This arrest follows a complaint filed by Bruneau Laurette at the Grand-Gaube police station on Tuesday afternoon, after the incidents that occurred before the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) on Monday evening, during the interrogation of former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth and the former Attorney General, Maneesh Gobin, in the Mercantile and Maritime Group (MMG) affair.

Teeruth Prasad Degnarain had heated exchanges with Taariq Hussein Dooreemeah, journalist at Channel News. He allegedly made threats against her. Later in the evening, he posted a video on Facebook in which he attacked several people, including journalists Nawaz Noorbux and Al Khizr Ramdin, muay Thai instructor Vimen Sabapati, as well as activist Bruneau Laurette.
