The tragic disappearance of Jonathan Richard Kah Shun Koo Yan Too, 40, shot in the chest at the Au Villars hunting ground in Midlands (see below), which he managed, shocked his family, his relatives and his many friends. Friends since their college years, the two men had gone through their youth together, before meeting again thanks to social networks. Today, Vishal shares with emotion the memories of a sincere friendship and pays tribute to a man he describes as generous, luminous and deeply human.

For Vishal Mega Patten, the memories go back almost three decades. It was in 1998 that he first crossed paths with Jonathan Koo Yan at John Kennedy College (JKC). “We were still teenagers. We grew up together. We entered this establishment like boys and we left like men,” he confides.

Very quickly, a strong bond developed between the two young boys. They share the same classrooms, the same challenges and the same dreams for the future. “We had so many moments together. The college years often create friendships that last a lifetime. Jonathan was one of those precious friends that you never forget. »Like many former comrades, the two friends ended up following different paths. Work and family responsibilities took over. “For a few years, we unfortunately lost touch with each other. Everyone followed their own path. Then, social networks allowed us to reconnect. »

This reconnection instantly rekindled their friendship. “When we met again, it was as if time had never passed. We started talking regularly again. We were in contact almost every day. »

Despite busy schedules, they always found time to check in on each other. “As soon as our schedules allowed, we met. We had kept the same complicity that had united us since our youth. »

When he talks about Jonathan, Vishal emphasizes above all his human qualities. “Jonathan was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. He had a smile that could light up an entire room. » According to him, his friend possessed a rare positive energy. “When he arrived somewhere, he immediately brought good humor. He had this extraordinary ability to put people at ease. »

Despite the years, Jonathan remained true to himself. “Some people change over time. He remained authentic. He was sincere, generous and deeply caring. » For Vishal, what particularly distinguished his friend was his ability to encourage
