A large cannabis plantation was discovered Tuesday morning on abandoned land located near the former Maubon factory, in La Flora, during an operation carried out by the Vacoas ERS.
A total of 366 cannabis plants, measuring between 7 centimeters and 2 meters in height, were uprooted. The police maintained surveillance of the scene for several hours, but no suspect appeared on site.
Due to a lack of clues to identify the grower(s), the plants were uprooted and seized for the purposes of the investigation.
The market value of this illicit crop is estimated at around Rs 1.83 million. An investigation was opened to identify those responsible.
