The Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) investigation targeting Hans Ballah has entered a new phase after his arrest on Friday June 5 during an operation at his home in Ébène. Presented before the Weekend Court the next day, he was granted conditional release.

Since then, investigators have focused on his financial activities, particularly foreign transactions. At this point, Hans Ballah denies any allegations of money laundering.

Several international financial movements have caught the attention of the FCC. Investigators are seeking to establish its origin. They also want to verify whether these funds match the suspect's declared income.

During his hearing, Hans Ballah claimed to receive income from activities operating abroad. He said he could justify financing his assets. These claims are subject to extensive verification. Investigators are analyzing financial documents and bank statements in particular.

At the same time, the seized computer equipment remains at the heart of the investigation. Phones, computers and other electronic media are examined at the FCC's Digital Forensic Laboratory. The data was cloned for the purposes of the investigation. Experts look for possible suspicious transactions, communications or data. The results are awaited to guide further investigations.

Friday's operation resulted in the seizure of around Rs 1.9 million in cash, including foreign currencies. A certain quantity of cannabis and a vehicle were also seized. These elements are being examined as part of the investigation into alleged money laundering.

In court on Saturday, the FCC indicated that it did not oppose his release on parole. The court set two bails of Rs 150,000 each. An acknowledgment of debt of Rs 1 million was also imposed. Among the other conditions: Hans Ballah must report to the Sodnac police station every day between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.; provide a contactable telephone number; not to interfere with witnesses and not to leave the territory without authorization.

As the Cash Office was closed on Saturdays, Hans Ballah was released on parole. He was to report to the Sodnac police station on Saturday and Sunday. He is also expected this Monday, June 8 before the Rose-Hill court to complete the formalities related to his bail. He is also expected to be summoned again as the investigation progresses.
