The businesswoman, who settled in Italy after the 2014 general elections, is very active on Facebook. In a publication posted online Thursday, Nandanee Soornack returned to her arrest on April 16, 2015, which she describes as illegal and based on “baseless allegations”.

"Eleven years ago, on Thursday, 16th of April 2015. I faced a nightmare of illegal arrest based on baseless accusations meant to ruin Me for their own benefit. It has been a long journey, but I never let those lies define my future. Looking at where I am today, standing tall, I realize that my strength was greater than their malice. I survived, I thrived, and I am proud of my journey. I whole-heartedly Thank God My family My lawyers and well-wishers for their support and for believing in Me."
