The circumstances surrounding the deaths of Jean Valery Norvic Salesse, 31, and Manisha Budhoo, 24, continue to raise many questions. The two young people were found lifeless Friday morning in Caprice Lane, St-Pierre.

The two victims worked within the Trident company, based in Ébène. Norvic Salesse held the position of HR, while Manisha Budhoo was assigned to the legal department.

According to information gathered, the body of Norvic Salesse was discovered in the garage of a house under construction belonging to him. A relative transported him to the C-Care clinic, where he was pronounced dead.

The body of Manisha Budhoo was found inside a car parked on the property. SAMU emergency services, dispatched to the scene, could only note his death.

At this stage, the exact circumstances of the tragedy remain unknown. The St-Pierre police have opened an investigation to shed light on this matter, currently being treated as a case of “alleged murder”.

The disappearance of the young woman caused great emotion in New France, where her family resides. Her father, Manoj Budhoo, explains that she continued her studies in New Zealand before working there for a while. Returning to Mauritius to pursue her career, she had also been engaged for several years in a marriage project with her fiancé. “Mo pa konpran seki finn arive,” confides his father, still in shock.

Like many relatives of the two victims, he is now awaiting the conclusions of the investigation.

In Quartier-Militaire, where Norvic Salesse came from, the incomprehension is just as great. In his neighborhood, several residents find it hard to believe his sudden disappearance.

Among them, Kumaree and Ganga, two long-time neighbors, are particularly upset. They describe a discreet, polite and respectful young man.

“He’s a good guy. Touletan respects dimounn,” confides one of them, still in shock. Another neighbor agrees. Both say they don't understand what could have happened.
