Amendments to the National Pensions Act, contained in the Finance Bill, were approved by 55 votes to six.
The vote was marked by the position of the Junior Minister for Tourism, Sydney Pierre, the only member of the government majority to have voted against. The other votes against are those of the leader of the Opposition, Joe Lesjongard, as well as the deputies of the Opposition, Paul Bérenger, Joanna Bérenger, Chetan Baboolall and Franco Quirin.
Note that Adrien Duval had, during his intervention, requested that a division of votes be held, but he was absent at the time of the vote. The adoption of the Finance Bill and the Economic and Financial Measures (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill allows the government to provide a legislative basis for the main measures announced in the 2026-2027 Budget.
The vote took place at the end of the parliamentary debates devoted to the examination of these two bills.
