A 74-year-old man lost his life to drowning this Sunday, May 3. According to information, the victim, a retiree from the Mangalkhan residence, was rescued around 2:30 p.m. by a lifeguard at Trou-d'eau-Douce beach. She was then transported to SAJ Hospital by National Coast Guard personnel, where she was pronounced dead.
The autopsy carried out attributed the cause of death to asphyxia due to drowning.
