Co-organizing country of the 2026 World Cup with Mexico and the United States, Canada snatched a 1-1 draw against Bosnia-Herzegovina for its first match, Friday in Toronto.

During the first of 13 matches which will take place on Canadian soil, the Canucks were surprised by a goal from Bosnian striker Jovo Lukic, with a header after a corner (21st). They equalized through Cyle Larin (78th) to score their first point at a World Cup, after six defeats in as many matches.
