It was the event not to be missed this Saturday. Radio Plus organized a Post-Budget Breakfast Show in a packed house at the Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel, in Le Caudan. On this occasion, Nawaz Noorbux received the Deputy Minister of Finance, Dhaneshwar Damry.
Among the guests were representatives of Business Mauritius, including its CEO Kevin Ramkaloan, union representatives, notably Deepak Benydin, as well as civil society actors, including the president of the Mauritius Council of Social Service (MACOSS), Suraj Ray. Also present were consumer representatives, including the Secretary General of the Consumers' Association of Mauritius (ACIM), Jayen Chellum, representatives of the financial services sector, students from the University of Mauritius, executives from the private sector, the President of the State Trading Corporation (STC), Takesh Luckho, as well as Sen Ramsamy, Managing Director of Tourism Business Intelligence, Kevin Carpenen, President of the Professional Association of Freight Forwarders (APT), among others.
The broadcast provided an opportunity to review the main measures announced on Friday as part of the 2026-2027 Budget, in particular the reform of the income-based pension system. The discussions also focused on the prospects for economic growth, purchasing power, food and energy security, the blue economy as well as the challenges linked to the implementation of budgetary measures.
The show was broadcast simultaneously live on Radio Plus, the defimedia.info Facebook page as well as on the TéléPlus YouTube channel.
