Forty-one cannabis plants, weighing 21 kilos, as well as dried cannabis leaves, weighing one kilo, were seized in Pointe-aux-Sables on Friday. The drugs are estimated at around Rs 21 million, according to the anti-drug squad.

The operation was carried out by the ADSU Western Division team. The suspect, a 38-year-old building contractor (“contractor”), was arrested for cultivation and trafficking of cannabis. He will be brought before the Weekend Court this Saturday.

ADSU discovered a converted greenhouse on site, equipped with cutting-edge equipment and optimized for cannabis cultivation. Equipment such as LED lights, fans and air filters were also seized.
