Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Housing, Shakeel Mohamed, said he was pleased to note that delivery of New Social Living Development (NSLD) housing at Henrietta 3, at No 16, began yesterday.

“The smile on the faces of the 44 families who take possession of their new home is priceless. It is true that the wait for the delivery of these accommodations was long. We inherited this social housing project from the previous regime, with its share of problems, particularly in terms of infrastructure, as well as numerous obstacles to overcome. NSLD and NHDC are doing their best to resolve any outstanding issues at other sites. I would like to assure everyone that the ongoing award process is transparent, fair and merit-based. The longer an applicant waits, the more priority their file has,” emphasizes Shakeel Mohamed on his Facebook page.

After this first group of 44 beneficiaries, other housing deliveries are planned, notably in Grand-Bel-Air, Valetta and on other sites in the coming weeks.  The Acting Prime Minister congratulated all the families who are moving into their new home and wishes them the best for the future.
