In Providence: a young man claims to have been kidnapped and released against a ransom of Rs 300,000

A 25-year-old man claims to have been the victim of a kidnapping in Laporte, Providence, on the afternoon of Thursday, June 18.

According to his statement to the police, while he was in his car, he was threatened by an individual armed with a sword. While trying to flee, he was intercepted by four other men, also armed.

The victim alleges that he was tied up at the hands and feet before being forced into a vehicle. Blindfolded, she claims to have been attacked by her captors.

The latter reportedly demanded a ransom of Rs 300,000 for his release. Contacted by the suspects, the young man's mother allegedly handed over the requested amount near the Constance playground.

The victim was finally released a few hours later on the main road to Laventure.

An investigation was opened to establish the exact circumstances of this case and identify the suspects.
