The authorities still do not know who the people are who set fire to two vehicles during the incidents which set fire to the village of Camp-Thorel on May 17.
The investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division of Moka, entrusted to the Central Criminal Investigation Department, is stalling to find the troublemakers who set fire to a pick-up as well as a Nissan Magnite car on Sunday May 17. These vehicles belong to people who came to the Eastern Hemisphere hunting center occupied by the Jamalsah.
That day, it was the movement of people visiting this hunting ground on quads in the fitness trail that ignited the situation. Village residents denounced this practice as dangerous.
The situation quickly deteriorated, with village residents denouncing cases of aggression committed by people who had come to this hunting ground. The situation subsequently flared up until late in the evening, requiring the deployment of a large police force.
For now, the CCID has not been able to identify these suspects, as revealed in court this week by an investigator who said the police still need time to complete their investigations.
Lawyer Anoop Goodharry, who represents one of the arrested suspects, asks the CCID to direct its investigation towards the arsonists of the two vehicles. “Mo dir ban anketer rann enn servis get bann zafer dan de kote, pa get zis enn sel kote lizie, ena mo kliyan so loto ine brile, bizin fer lanket gete ki zot rol ki zot partisipasion. »
This is a two-part investigation that is underway. In contrast to the investigation aimed at tracing the arsonists, in the other part relating to a premeditated attack against the villagers of Camp-Thorel, five individuals who had been arrested: Noorani Jamalsah, 49 years old, Julien Bernard, 23 years old, Rajen Luchmedu, 49 years old, Gérard Céleste, 44 years old, as well as Ashfaaq Jamalsah, were released on bail on Tuesday June 2 after almost two weeks in police detention.
