In total, 32 civil servants were promoted to the position of Deputy Permanent Secretary (DPS) on a temporary basis. This is stated in a circular letter issued yesterday by the Secretary to Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service, Suresh Chandra Seeballuck, under the Public Service Commission Circular Note No 2 of 2026. These appointments, made concern officers from different ministries and departments of the civil service. the 32 people appointed, 17 are women, or more than half of the appointments. The other 15 appointments concern men, confirming a certain diversity in this selection exercise within the senior hierarchy of the civil service. The circular also states that any officer who feels aggrieved by this decision may appeal to the Public Bodies Appeal Tribunal within 21 days, in accordance with applicable law. These appointments are part of strengthening the administrative capacities of the state, through the promotion of experienced executives to management positions. The civil servants promoted are Tulsi Devi Moorut, Sapna Neermala Bhugun, Maneesha Sandiana Bhowon, Bibi Nabeela Fokeerbux, Ridheema Namrata Jhowry, Alankar Dhondoo, Nankumar Seewoochurn, Bibi Fawwaaza Chamroo-Jaddoo, Gawrav Sharma Teelokee, Vijay Kumar Mudhoo, Sooman Puttur-Bhurtun, Muhammad Ziyaad Madarbokus, Sachuda Arnachellum, Ram Prakash Cheemontoo, Muhammad Azhar Mamojee, Suchitra Bhunjun, Lucie Carole Ricco, Anju Ghurburrun. Ishrat Bibi Mooraby, Nandita Neelum Dookayka, Devendranath Joymungul, Varun Krishn Munoosingh, Oumah Vinktaremboo, Marie Sandra Yan Fong Hung Leung Sang, Dashyant Rughoo, Purvashee Banarsee, Dr Ziad Nabee, Jean Christian Laval Arlanda, Yash Rai Kheedhoo, Seela Mohesh, Mohammad Belal Rajabalee and Suchitra Gopal-Andee.
