The Speaker of the National Assembly announced, this Tuesday, changes within the parliamentary committee responsible for supervising the work of the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC).
She indicated that, on July 28, 2026, the Prime Minister, Navin Ramgoolam, appointed MPs Roshan Jhummun and Ram Etwareea as new members of this committee, replacing MPs Babita Thannoo and Chetan Baboolall.
The Speaker also clarified that the leader of the opposition can always, in accordance with the law, appoint an additional member, who is entitled to a total of four representatives within the parliamentary committee.
