They will once again seek the votes at No. 19. Ivan Collendavelloo revealed this evening the names of the three candidates of the government alliance in Stanley/Rose-Hill with a view to the next legislative elections. They are Ivan Collendavelloo himself, Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo and Seety Naidoo.
“I will be a candidate, just like Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo and Seety Naidoo. Tou le trwa bizin eli kare kare”, launched Ivan Collendavelloo during an ML congress in Plaisance/Rose-Hill this evening.
The trio Ivan Collendavelloo, Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo and Seety Naidoo will therefore be reappointed to No. 19 to run for office under the colors of the government alliance. The three were candidates in this same constituency in the general elections of November 2019. Ivan Collendavelloo was elected in third place (8,959 votes) behind the two MMM candidates, Paul Bérenger and Deven Nagalingum (14,368 and 9,250 votes). Despite taking fifth place, Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo (8,678) was drafted as Best Loser. Seety Naidoo had finished sixth with 7,606 votes.
During his speech, Ivan Collendavelloo attacked the opposition. “Lot kote zot ena enn sel program: zet Pravind Jugnauth. Se bann la ki nou pou bez koude pie. We for isi! We can win this because we have it or not,” declared the ML leader.
In addition to the leader of this party, Ivan Collendavelloo, Minister Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo, member of the MSM and MP for No. 19 (Stanley-Rose-Hill), guest of honor at this congress, also spoke. Seety Naidoo, David Utile, mayor of Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill and member of the ML, the PPS and Deputy Leader of the ML, Ismaël Rawoo, as well as the former MP and president of the ML, Toolsyraj Benydin, also spoke.
