Village elections will be held within the time limits provided for by law. The Minister of Local Government, Ranjiv Woochit, assured that the electoral calendar will be respected and ruled out any possibility of postponement.
The deadline for voting is November 22. These elections will, however, be organized according to the provisions of the current Local Government Act.
The new legislation, still in preparation, will not be applied for this election, specified Ranjiv Woochit.
